
Cooking has been a passion of mine ever since I can remember. I just think that it is truly amazing how one can take meats, vegetables, grains, herbs, and spices and combine them to come up with a wonderful dish! I absolutely love the inspiration and art of food.
I have been cooking from the time I was a little girl. Some of my fondest memories are of me sitting on the counter at my grandmother’s kitchen handing her the ingredients she needed for whatever she happened to be making. Little by little I started learning what spices tasted good with what and how you can take just a few ingredients and make a wonderful meal out of them.
I went to college at Iowa State University and earned a degree as an Agricultural Engineer. Shortly after I graduated, I started with an Agro-Processing firm in the Midwest. Although I learned a lot during my time with them, it was not long before I realized that it was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
After much soul-searching and research, I came across an article in a magazine about this amazing new field: PERSONAL CHEF SERVICES. Immediately I knew that this was the route I wanted to take. Shortly thereafter, I went to the Culinary Business Academy offered by the United States Personal Chef Association. Here, I was given the tools necessary to become a successful personal chef.
When I am not cooking or coming up with new recipes, I enjoy time doing yoga, painting in oils and acrylics, and decorating my home.
